Section 4.2 says:

                                                       The correspondent
    node may in either case grant a further reduced lifetime, but it MUST

It should say:

                                                       The correspondent
    node MAY in either case grant a further reduced lifetime, but it MUST
         ^^^
    NOT accept a higher lifetime.
