General

• an RFC may contain ASCII images OR SVG images, but not both
  • while mixing image types within a publication format is not OK, if authors provide SVG versions of ASCII diagrams for the HTML, PDF, and EPUB formats, that is acceptable

ASCII

• images must be no more than 80 characters wide

SVG

• SVG 1.1 (Second Edition)
