Area Assignment: app

Errata ID: 1325
Status: Verified
Type: Technical
Publication Format(s) : TEXT

Reported By: Alfred Hoenes
Date Reported: 2008-02-16
Verifier Name: Alexey Melnikov
Date Verified: 2010-11-12

Section 2, pg. 4 says:

   Rules for Lexical Equivalence:

         The entire URN is case-sensitive.

It should say:

   Rules for Lexical Equivalence:

The namespace-specific part of the URN is case-sensitive.

Notes:

The original rule contradicts Section 5 of RFC 2141 [1],
which requests case-insensitive comparison after downcasing
of "urn:" and the NID, and normalization of %-escaping.
The correction restores conformance with RFC 2141.
