It might be a good idea to look into how references can be shared
between the IETF tools collection and this application (mostly for W3C).

Hi all,
folks from the Anolis and ReSpec tools have been talking together in
order to figure out a way to share the data for the bibliographical
references and definition cross-references.
Thanks to that, there is now a shared repository, using a shared data
format, as well as an HTTP API to get at the reference data.
All of that is now live, but neither tool has enabled using that just
yet, but I would like to switch it on for ReSpec rather soon if possible
given that it would speed things up lots.
Other tools are of course very much welcome to reuse the same data and
service!
I won't bore you with the details here, you can read them at:

Feedback is welcome, especially if you have nagging doubts that this
might not be done right.
