Proposal: rfcnnnn-authors at rfc-editor.org redirects in the same way that draftname at tools.ietf.org does. The timeliness is maintained by the RFC Editor, and the RFC Editor can deal with anti-spam. This costs a small amount of time and money for the RSE to set up and maintain, and that should factored into their SOW and remuneration.
