It looks like he wants to expand the 64-bit EPROM tag (e.g., as
might be used for a PCI card) to a 32-byte DES fingerprint.

Seems like he needs to review how "htonl" and "mmap" work, and how data
is padded before crypto is applied, e.g.,

However, IMO, it looks like what he _really_ wants to do is crack some
hardware, e.g., a secure thumbdrive or PCI card whose ROM is encoded.

Anybody else have a different impression, before we give him enough
rope... ?
