Based on the text you have offered, let me suggest something simpler and even 
more neutral:


    "Any content problems for this RFC have been resolved in 
    RFC wxyz, which obsoletes RFC 2234."


This entirely sidesteps dealing with any opinions about those problems or 
their resolutions.
