Section 6.2 says: 

          <local>
            <target uri="sip:alice@pc33.example.com"/>
              <param pname="+sip.rendering" pval="yes"/>
          </local>

It should say:

           <local>
            <target uri="sip:alice@pc33.example.com">
              <param pname="+sip.rendering" pval="yes"/>
            </target>
          </local>

Notes:

The <param> element must be enclosed by the <target> element.
